Features
3Mâ„¢ ESPEâ„¢ RelyXâ„¢ Veneer Cement is a cutting-edge dental product that serves as a crucial tool for the permanent cementation of ceramic or composite veneers. This advanced system leverages state-of-the-art light-curing technology, demanding exposure to visible light within the 400-500 nm wavelength range for proper polymerization. This efficient light-curing process simplifies the veneer bonding procedure, ensuring remarkable color stability in the cured cement, a critical factor in achieving aesthetically pleasing veneer restorations.
With a choice of six meticulously selected shades, ranging from translucent to dark, this product offers dental professionals the flexibility needed for precise shade matching and any necessary adjustments. The availability of these shades has been determined through extensive input from dentists and dental laboratories, ensuring that the final results meet both clinical and esthetic requirements.
Furthermore, RelyX Veneer Cement is characterized by its quick curing time, impressive physical strength, wear resistance, and compliance with industry standards, making it a trusted and reliable choice for dental applications. Its high adhesive strengths ensure that the veneers stay securely in place, providing long-lasting results that patients can rely on.
One notable feature of this product is its user-friendly handling properties. It has been formulated based on feedback from clinicians to provide the ideal viscosity properties. This ensures that the cement is easy to dispense, securely seats veneers without drifting, and allows for straightforward cleanup. Dental professionals can work efficiently and confidently with this cement, knowing that it will provide consistent and reliable results.

To facilitate the shade selection process and ensure the desired esthetic outcome, RelyXâ„¢ Try-In Pastes are offered as complementary products. These pastes are formulated to precisely match the final cured shades of RelyX Veneer Cement. They are water-soluble, making cleanup and removal from both the tooth and veneer surfaces a hassle-free process.
INDICATION:
- Cementing porcelain, composite and ceramic veneer restorations.
Key Specifications
COMPOSITION:
- RelyX Veneer cement is a light-cure, methacrylate resin-based luting material.
- RelyX Veneer cement is a single component, light-cure material packaged in a single syringe.
- The resin is composed of bisphenol-A-diglycidylether dimethacrylate (BisGMA) and triethylene glycol dimethacrylate (TEGDMA) polymer. Zirconia/silica and fumed silica fillers are used to impart radiopacity, wear resistance and physical strength.
- The filler loading is approximately 66% by weight. The average particle size for the filler is approximately 0.6 mm.

Direction to Use
To use 3Mâ„¢ ESPEâ„¢ RelyXâ„¢ Veneer Cement effectively for the permanent cementation of ceramic or composite veneers, follow these step-by-step directions:
Materials Needed:
- RelyX Veneer Cement syringe (chosen shade)
- Appropriate bonding system (RelyX Ceramic Primer and Single Bond Dental Adhesive System or Scotchbondâ„¢ Multi-Purpose Dental Adhesive System)
- Curing light with a minimum output of 400 mW/cm² in the 400-500 nm wavelength range
- Mixing pad
- Applicator tips (if required)
- RelyX Try-In Paste (for shade selection, if needed)
Procedure:
- Preparation:Â Ensure that the veneer restoration and tooth preparation are complete and clean. Verify that the restoration fits properly and is free from any debris.
- Shade Selection (Optional):Â If needed, use RelyX Try-In Paste to select the appropriate shade. Apply a small amount of the paste to the veneer and place it on the tooth to verify shade accuracy. Remove any excess paste.
- Adhesive Application:Â Apply the chosen bonding system (RelyX Ceramic Primer and Single Bond Dental Adhesive System or Scotchbondâ„¢ Multi-Purpose Dental Adhesive System) following the manufacturer’s instructions. Allow it to set as directed.
- Cement Mixing:Â If the cement is not pre-mixed, dispense a small amount of RelyX Veneer Cement onto a mixing pad. Mix the cement thoroughly according to the manufacturer’s recommendations. Ensure that it reaches a uniform consistency.
- Cement Placement:Â Load the mixed cement into a cement syringe. If the veneer is small, an applicator tip may be used for precise placement. Dispense the cement evenly on the internal surface of the veneer.
- Veneer Seating:Â Carefully position the veneer onto the prepared tooth. Ensure it is aligned correctly and press it into place. Excess cement may flow out.
- Curing: Use a curing light with a minimum output of 400 mW/cm² in the 400-500 nm wavelength range to cure the cement. Ensure that the light reaches all areas of the veneer for the recommended cure time (typically 30 seconds, but 40 seconds for A5/Dark shade).
- Excess Cement Removal:Â After curing, remove any excess cement with a suitable instrument. Pay particular attention to interproximal areas and margins to ensure a clean finish.
- Final Check:Â Verify that the veneer is securely in place and that there is no residual cement. Make any necessary adjustments for proper occlusion and esthetics.
- Post-Operative Care:Â Instruct the patient on post-operative care, including oral hygiene and any dietary restrictions, if necessary.
